About Jennifer
Jennifer has been playing the harp for nearly fifteen years. She began playing the harp as a music therapy
intern. She loved the idea of using the soothing sounds of the harp to help patients deal with pain and has
spent many hours playing at bedside for hospice patients and withdrawn nursing home residents.
It wasn't long before Jennifer was requested to play for church services, receptions, and weddings. She has
played for the 2005 and 2006 Arbor Day Celebration in Nebraska City, the 2005 Silent Auction and Wine
tasting for local support group Charlie Brown's Kids, the Christmas Eve service at Calvary Methodist church
for the past several years, special entertainment for a variety of local retirement homes as part of the Lincoln
Harp Duo, and for a number of weddings in beautiful outdoor settings such as the Doane College Amphitheatre,
Capitol Beach Lake, the Pillars at Pioneer Park, and the Sunken Gardens. Jennifer also appeared at the James
Arthur Vineyards Renaissance Festival and the Nebraska Renaissance Faire. She has also appeared as part of
the City of Lincoln's "That's Entertainment" series and the Celebrate Lincoln Ethnic Festival.

Jennifer is also part of the Lincoln Harp Duo along with Margaret Nelson and the Prairie Flute & Harp Duo
with Jennifer Bailey.
In addition to performing as a harpist, Jennifer is a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC). She has
experience playing bedside in hospice, leading psychosocial and movement groups for people in long term care
and providing IEP assessments for students as well as teaching early childhood music groups. As a music
therapist, she structures musical experiences so the client can achieve non-musical goals. Instruments and
musical interventions used are based on a client assessment. For more information about music therapy visit
the American Music Therapy Association website.
